New magazine hits streets Friday

HER magazine, a new publication showcasing fashion, beauty, health and fitness for area women, will be on newsstands in Mid-Missouri on Friday.

The new magazine will offer "a fresh perspective on the place we call home," said editors Ashton Leslie and Porcshe Moran.

HER's debut issue features a guide to local eco-beauty products, a do-it-yourself faux finish tutorial, last-minute spring break tips, a profile on area painter Renee Nilges, and delicious recipes for a spring cocktail and Easter brunch menu.

The magazine, a publication of the News Tribune, will be available for free on racks at Walmart, Brew House, Scholastic, Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce, News Tribune, Tolson's Drug Store, Chez Monet, Downtown Book & Toy, HyVee, BeeLine Snack Shop, Schnuck's, Truman Building, Amie B. & The Orchid Emporium, Prison Brews, Cadillac Ink, Jason Dunville DDS, Studio 1 Salon, Marshall & Co., Anytime Fitness, The Perfect Fit Boutique, Therapeutic Touch Wellness Center and Summit Lake Winery.

HER also will be available March 9 at the Lake Today and Shawnee Bend Parkway at the Lake of the Ozarks.
