Flue fires spreads, damages area home

A house fire in the southern part of Cole County Monday morning caused an estimated $15,000 in damage, but caused no injuries.
According to Cole County Fire Protection District reports, the call came in at 6:21 a.m. to go to 2700 Spring Beauty.
This started as a flue fire, but the fire got out of the flue and into a wall. It then traveled into the attic.
Damage was caused to the roof and attic, as well as smoke and water damage in the living room. It took about 30 minutes for crews to bring the blaze under control.
