Cuba upsets Blair Oaks girls

ST. JAMES, Mo. — The Cuba Lady Wildcats controlled the middle two quarters Monday night and upset the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons in the opening round of the Class 3 District 9 Tournament.

The game was tied at 10 after one quarter before Cuba, the fifth seed, outscored the fourth-seeded Lady Falcons 17-11 in the second to lead 27-21 at halftime.

The Lady Wildcats then outscored the Lady Falcons 10-7 in the third to lead 37-28. Each team scored 15 points in the final frame.

In another first-round game, third-seeded Fatima blew the game open in the third quarter and topped sixth-seeded Southern Boone 42-38.
