COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Former Missouri Gov. Roger Wilson is no longer president and CEO of Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Co.
The Columbia Daily Tribune reported Thursday that board chairman Jim Owen will continue to serve as interim president and chief executive. Owen has filled those roles since Wilson was placed on administrative leave in May.
Both Wilson and company officials have declined to comment, and the company's announcement gave no reason for his removal from the two positions.
Wilson became president of the Columbia-based workers' compensation company in January 2010 after serving on an interim basis for about eight months.
He served as governor for several months after then-Gov. Mel Carnahan died in an October 2000 plane crash. Wilson, a Democrat, previously had been lieutenant governor and a state senator.
