MoDOT monitoring water levels on Route 179 near Sandy Hook in Moniteau County

As Mid-Missouri waits for potential Missouri River floodwaters to arrive, the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is preparing for the possibility that water may cover the roadway and close Route 179 near Sandy Hook in Moniteau County.

MoDOT is closely monitoring river levels and has prepared barricades and detour signing at this location and other state highways in Central Missouri.

Motorists should also be aware that Route 94 near Portland in Callaway County and Route 100 near Chamois in Osage County may also close due to rising floodwaters. The magnitude of flooding will determine what roadways are impacted and the length of the closures.
