MRRL director ready to write new chapter

Inspiration follows librarian Helen Rigdon.

“I’m impressed by Jefferson City as a reading community,” said the career librarian, who took the reins in January as director of the Missouri River Regional Library.

As evidence, she cites the volume of materials donated to the annual book sale fundraiser, as well as the number of people routinely reading newspapers and periodicals at the main library, 214 Adams St.

Among her challenges at MRRL is shepherding a strategic plan to replace the one that expired last year.
