How do you think St. Mary’s administrators, staff and architects are working to develop a model for the hospital rooms at its planned new facility? With Styrofoam?
Inside an area warehouse sits St. Mary’s current vision for the 167 private patient rooms, obstetrical rooms, emergency department exam rooms and patients’ intake areas, mainly made of Styrofoam.

Why would they publish a picture like that...future hospital room? Mock-up or not...what were they thinkin'!!?

This room doesn't look as nice as the rooms in the new tower at Columbia Regional.
Once again, Columbia gets it right and Jefferson City gets laughed at.

Folks, it is just a styrofoam mock-up and clearly an exam room - like in the ER. The purpose is to have a life-sized model to check the functionality and layout. I suspect the actual rooms will be much nicer - or at least have flooring. lol

I think it's pretty cool. With the styrofoam, they can keep make changes to the rooms until they get them right. I think we all want our new patient rooms to be done right. The wallpaper and flooring can come later.
