Local veteran continues family tradition of military service
As a member of the Missouri National Guard, Sgt. 1st Class Keith Loethen continues a tradition of military service that includes his grandfather, father, and now extends to his daughter.

Asserting that he is the “man behind the scenes” with regard to his military service, Jefferson City resident Keith Loethen has proudly continued a tradition of military service handed down through his father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Loethen was born in 1970 while father was serving as a soldier with the 5th Engineers at Fort Leonard Wood. Following his discharge from the active service in 1972, his father moved the family to the Meta area where the younger Loethen would spend his formative years.
