Cole County Historical Society preserves, promotes our past

In a time of swift progress, when the community was growing and businessmen were flourishing, the Capital City’s history was not forgotten.

Affluent entrepreneurs, descendants of Jefferson City’s first pioneers and state government transplants alike joined in July 1941 to organize the Cole County Historical Society.

The organization celebrates its 70th anniversary with a reception at 6 p.m. today in the courtyard.
