Public works panel OKs animal shelter bid

After years of discussion, a new animal shelter for Jefferson City could become a reality.
The public works and planning committee voted Thursday to recommend the City Council award a $1,974,500 bid to JC Industries for construction of a new shelter at the city’s Hyde Park facility.
