News Tribune staff wins 14 awards

The News Tribune advertising department won four first-place awards, four second-place awards, five third-place awards and one honorable mention award at the Missouri Ad Managers Association Awards.

The following is a breakdown of the awards:

First place: Best Regularly Scheduled Section - staff for Active Times; Best Classified Section - Brenda Perkins; Best Shared Signature Page - staff for Trends; Best Ad Content Entire Publication - staff for Family Ties.

Second place: Best Full Page - Rosalie Heislen for Naught Naught Insurance; Most Effective Use of Small Space - Denise McMillen for Burns Optical; Most Creative Use of Color - Denise McMillen for Hy-Vee; Best Newspaper Produced Insert - Janet Ousley and Vickie Catalina for Schulte's.

Third place: Best Full Page - Trisha Mistler for Carrie's Hallmark; Best Single House Ad - Adam Moss for Bridal Ad; Most Effective Use of Small Space - John Benke and Vickie Catalina for Archery Shack; Best Regular Scheduled Section - staff for Real Estate Guide; Best Newspaper Promotion - Monica Rackers for What A Deal.

Honorable mention: Best Single House Ad - Brenda Perkins for Spring Job Fair.

The paper submitted 21 marketing pieces to compete with newspapers from across the state.

The News Tribune graphics staff has more than 100 combined years of design experience, and the paper has also been awarded membership in the International Newspaper Color Quality Club for exceptional printing capabilities.
