FULTON, Mo. - Few things invoke thoughts of the Fourth of July like the boom and flash of fireworks.

For the first time this year, Fulton residents can buy those patriotic explosives - and set them off - within city limits, thanks to an ordinance passed in August 2010.

The City Council allowed residents to shoot off fireworks last year when they first started discussing the question of fireworks within the city limits, but this is the first year the new ordinance is in effect.
