West end Jefferson City theft / fraud
Tuesday, June 21, 2011
The Jefferson City Police Department is currently investigating a theft that occurred sometime during the first week of May, 2011. Several checks were stolen from a local business located on the west end of Jefferson City. The checks were forged to look similar to the actual business payroll checks and passed at local banks within Jefferson City. Bank surveillance video captured images of the suspects as they cashed the checks and made away with the cash.
Jefferson City Area Crime Stoppers is offering one $500 reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case. Anyone with information as to the identity of these suspects can call 573-659-TIPS (8477), or submit a tip online at www.jeffcitycrimestoppers.com.
