A Jefferson City man is facing six criminal charges in connection with a vehicle and foot chase that left two Jefferson City police officers injured.
Authorities initially indicated that Jason Williams, 30, had identification which showed he was from Florida, but court documents filed Friday showed he has a Jefferson City address of 720 Glendale.
Williams was charged with two counts of assault on a law officer, two counts of resisting arrest along with one count of DWI and one count of driving while revoked.
A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows Officer Jason Sederwall, who was on a marked police motorcycle, was conducting a traffic stop in the 3100 block of W. Edgewood Drive on a vehicle driven by Williams.
Sederwall had clocked Williams going 57 mph in a 40 mph zone.
Sederwall turned off his motorcycle and put his kickstand down and yelled at Williams to turn off his vehicle.
Sederwall began to dismount his motorcycle when Williams put his vehicle in reverse and backed up onto Sederwall, shoving him backwards about 30 to 40 feet and knocking him off the motorcycle.
Williams then drove off at a high rate of speed traveling westbound.
Sederwall was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Within one minute of Sederwall's dispatch, Officer Zach Kolb observed Williams going through the intersection of W. Edgewood Drive and S. Country Club Drive at a high rate of speed.
Kolb began to pursuit the vehicle which eventually ended on Richards Street in Cole County.
Williams got out of his vehicle and got into a four block foot pursuit with Kolb following him.
Kolb caught Williams in the 1300 block of Westview Drive where Williams fought with Kolb, hitting Kolb, biting Kolb on the left arm and taking Kolb's mace away and trying to spray Kolb in the face.
After being taken into custody, Williams stated to officers that the blood test would show alcohol and marijuana in his system.
Like Sederwall, Kolb was also taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in this chase. Both officers have since been released from the hospital.
