ST. LOUIS (AP) - The Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District will allow a gender discrimination lawsuit filed against Anheuser-Busch to go on.
The appeals court on Tuesday issued the ruling in favor of Francine Katz, who sued in 2009, a year after resigning as vice president of communications and consumer affairs for the maker of Budweiser, Bud Light and other beers.
Anheuser-Busch argued the case should be settled by an arbitrator, not the courts. The appeals court upheld a trial court ruling in Katz's favor. The case will continue in St. Louis Circuit Court.
Katz claimed she earned less in salary and bonuses than male executives. The company says women are treated fairly and the suit was unjustified.
