The soccer season for the Jefferson City Lady Jays ended just a handful of weeks ago.

So the atmosphere around this week's annual summer camp is less than hectic.

"We're not going to do anything stressful," Lady Jays coach Matt Stacey said. "The season just ended, the main purpose is to just get a few touches on the ball and keep our legs moving.

"It's not do-or-die."

Stacey, who said the camp will likely move later in the calendar next year, believes there are positives to having it this soon after the season.

"It sets the tone for the summer," he said. "It gets them focused hopefully on being around the ball the entire summer."
