HOLTS SUMMIT, Mo. - A family here is now homeless after their home was destroyed by fire early Saturday morning. Authorities have ruled the fire as arson.

The Holts Summit Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 5:06 a.m. Saturday on Brad Drive, with assistance from the Missouri Fire Marshal, who ruled the fire as arson. Although five members of the family were home at the time of the blaze, all of them escaped without injury.

The Capital Area Chapter of the Red Cross provided emergency assistance.

Brad Smith, an investigator with the Callaway County Sheriff's Department, said he could not reveal what led the Fire Marshall to declare arson, but did note none of the family members are suspected.
