Sunday's WNBA Capsules

ATLANTA (AP) - Sidney Spencer hit a tying basket on her only shot of the game with 0.2 seconds left in regulation, Leilani Mitchell made a clinching 3-pointer in overtime and the New York Liberty rallied to beat the Atlanta Dream 94-88 on Sunday.

Plenette Pierson scored 25 points to lead the Liberty in the opener for both teams, a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference finals won by Atlanta in a sweep.

The Liberty took advantage of an Atlanta team missing its top player, Angel McCoughtry, who didn't dress because of a sprained left knee.

Spencer, who played just 5 minutes, sent the game to overtime after a deflected pass but a quick improvisation left her with an open look. Mitchell finished off the Dream with a 3 from the corner with 28 seconds left in overtime.

Lynx 86, Sparks 69

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Maya Moore scored 16 points in her home debut, Seimone Augustus had 17 points and the Lynx managed a split of their opening two-game series.

The Sparks won their opener Friday night in Los Angeles.

Moore, the No. 1 overall draft pick from Connecticut, had a rough first half, hitting only 1 of 5 shots while playing just over 7 minutes after picking up two quick fouls.

She exploded in the third quarter, hitting back-to-back 3s that doubled Minnesota's halftime lead, and made two other long jump shots as the Lynx outscored Los Angeles 24-10 in the quarter.

Kristi Toliver led the Sparks with 13 points, while Tina Thompson and Candace Parker each scored 11.
