Your Opinion: Get the facts on sales tax extension

Dear Editor:

No where did it ever state that all gravel roads in Cole County would be paved! The factors that regulate the decisions on upgrading include maintenance factors.

It would be too costly to keep some low traveled roads paved and one major obstacle in paving roads is the donation of right of way. If people don’t want it they don’t have to get it..

Another major issue is thoroughfare upgrades; this builds for the majority of travelers and includes non-county residents to drive safely in our county to prevent major traffic events and fatalities.

Like I stated previously in my views on taxes, get the facts right and voters should do there own investigating to see the overall importance of the continuation of Cole County’s sales tax.

Issue-oriented letters to the editor in response to this or about other local topics are welcome. All letters should be limited to 400 words.
