Cole County's half-cent sales tax on ballot Tuesday

Extension would fund county infrastructure work

Voters last approved an extension of the countywide half-cent sales tax for capital improvements in Cole County in April 2006.

On Tuesday, they’ll be asked if they want to see it extended through 2016.

The split in how the money would be used hasn’t changed from when the tax was first passed 25 years ago.

Why build new roads, when you can't take care of the ones you have; the streets are terrible around town. They continue to patch and patch, which does little good n the long run.

This is the County, not the city. The county does a decent job. It is the city that totally wastes our tax dollars and does not maintain the streets.
