Jefferson City panel explores new storm sirens

Call it a strange coincidence.

At Thursday morning’s meeting of the Jefferson City Public Safety Committee, item No. 1 on the agenda was an issue that has been on the minds of many Missourians for almost two weeks — tornado sirens.

Whether it was the timeliness of the subject or the growing need, the committee unanimously approved starting the request for proposal process for two different early warning systems.
