Jail ‘overnights’ raise $3,550

When Cole County Sheriff Greg White and his staff played host two weeks ago to “volunteer jail inmates,” they raised $3,550 for the Sheriff’s Patrol and for the United Way.

White said Friday they collected a total of $5,350 through the special “Bed, Breakfast and Bar” event that saw a total of 168 people spend either Friday night or Saturday night in the new, 200-bed Cole County Jail.
