KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Police say a mother and daughter were shot to death inside the mother's home in Kansas City. Two young children at the home were not injured.
The victims of Thursday's shootings have been identified as 54-year-old Jackie Riley and her 35-year-old daughter Naushay Riley, a public health specialist with the Kansas City Health Department.
Police say someone broke into the home overnight and killed the women as Naushay Riley's children, ages 2 and 9, slept. Investigators believe the killings were related to domestic violence.
The Kansas City Star reports that Naushay Riley's ex-boyfriend called a family member and told her about the killings. The family member called police.
Investigators are searching for the ex-boyfriend.
