Arrangements set for Dan Peek

FARMINGTON, Mo. (AP) - Funeral arrangements are now set for Dan Peek, a founding member of the band America.

Peek died Sunday at his home in Farmington, Mo. He was 60.

America was one of the most popular bands of the 1970s, with hits such as "A Horse With No Name," "Ventura Highway" and "Sister Golden Hair."

Peek lived in the Farmington area briefly growing up. After leaving the band, he moved back to Farmington in 1978 and pursued a solo career, mostly in Contemporary Christian music.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Farmington Presbyterian Church.
