Arlene Libbert: Ready for next Red Cross assignment

Arlene Libbert has one regret when it comes to being a volunteer with the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. She wishes she had done it sooner.

Libbert is one of the few volunteers in rural Morgan County, so she spends time doing client work and responding to local disasters.

Following the June 1 tornado in Springfield, Mass., Libbert received her first deployment from the Red Cross. She was going to help with relief efforts in a shelter.
