Two in custody for Wednesday night robbery in Jefferson City

On 07-20-2011 at approximately 11:45 pm a 23 year old male Jefferson City resident was assaulted and robbed by two individuals near the intersection of Chestnut and East High St. During the assault the two suspects took the victim's wallet and left the scene. There were no indication that a weapon was used during the robbery.

The victim knew the individuals by first names and officers were able to track down one of the suspects within 45 minutes after the robbery. Orviron Jerome Wells, a 17 year old Jefferson City resident, was found at his residence and was arrested on two outstanding warrants and was being held for charges related to the robbery.

During the investigation officers were able to determine the name of the second suspect and located him on 07-22-11 in his car in the 900 block of East High St. Alphonso Gordan Jr., a 23 year old Jefferson City resident was taken into custody without incident on two outstanding warrants and the robbery related charges.

Officers forwarded Probable Cause statements to the Cole County prosecutor seeking charges for robbery related charges on both men.
