Haskell leads at stroke play

Eldon's Miller is tied for 40th

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Brian Haskell sits atop the leaderboard after carding a 2-under 70 Wednesday for a two-stroke lead in the Missouri Stroke Play Championship at Hickory Hills Country Club.

Haskell of St. Joseph posted a 5-under 67 in Tuesday's opening round of the tournament and is currently 7-under for the tournament.

Nick Wilson and Jace Long are tied for second. Long, who plays for the University of Missouri, opened the tournament Tuesday with a 5-under 67, before finishing off the second round with an even-par 72. Wilson, another Tiger golfer, shot a 68 on Tuesday and followed it up with a 1-under 71 Wednesday. Matt Miller of Eldon opened the first round with a 5-over 77. He carded a 1-over 73 in the second round and is currently tied for 40th.

Alex Knoll of Westphalia will miss the final 36-hole round today after finishing 9-over with a 153. The top 50 and ties advance to the final. Knoll opened the tournament with a 79, before posting a 74 in the second round.
