Karen Jennings, director of the Animal Protection and Control Division, thanked the Friends of the Animal Shelter group, along with the public for their support during a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning at the new shelter site in Hyde Park.
After years of planning, construction on a new animal shelter will finally begin.
Jefferson City and Cole County officials, along with staff and Friends of the Animal Shelter, gathered on Hyde Park Road on Wednesday to break ground on a new facility.
The new 10,000-square-foot shelter should be completed ....
