Top honors: Five area baseball players make all-state

The New Bloomfield Wildcats had three players named to the Class 2 all-state teams released Wednesday by the Missouri Sportwriters and Sportscasters Association.

The Wildcats captured the Class 2 title in May with a 20-4 thumping of Summit Christian Academy in the championship game to finish with a 19-4 record.
