Appeals court decision supports sex offender treatment law
Wednesday, July 20, 2011
The only mistake former Cole County Circuit Judge Paul Wilson made in one case last year was in not being specific enough, a three-judge panel of the Missouri appeals court in Kansas City ruled Tuesday.
The judges modified, but upheld Wilson’s ruling in favor of the state in a case filed by a state prison inmate.
Both Wilson’s and the appeals court’s rulings rejected Theodore Mitchell’s claim Missouri’s law defining the terms of sentencing is unconstitutional.
