Appeals court decision supports sex offender treatment law

The only mistake former Cole County Circuit Judge Paul Wilson made in one case last year was in not being specific enough, a three-judge panel of the Missouri appeals court in Kansas City ruled Tuesday.

The judges modified, but upheld Wilson's ruling in favor of the state in a case filed by a state prison inmate.

Both Wilson's and the appeals court's rulings rejected Theodore Mitchell's claim Missouri's law defining the terms of sentencing is unconstitutional.
