Post 5 Seniors, Juniors continue tournament play this week

The baseball postseason continues this week for the Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Seniors and Juniors.

The Seniors qualified for the Zone 1 Tournament in St. Charles by rolling to a district crown, going 3-0 while scoring 53 runs.

The Juniors are already in their state tournament after capturing the zone title Saturday in Washington.

Running up 53 runs is very poor sportsmanship. It only serves to humilate the opposing team. There is no good purpose in teaching our youth to pulverize a team when they are already down. The coach should be reprimanded.
