Energy-assistance program raised $1 million in 2010

Cole County families received $12,705 in help

Ameren UE’s Dollar More program has provided more than $32 million in energy assistance to 139,000 families since the program started in 1982.

Eligible families can receive up to $600 of assistance per calendar year. The program is funded through Ameren customers who donate $1 each month to the program.

In 2010, the program provided just more than $1 million in energy assistance. Of that, $12,705 went to Cole County agencies.

Customers needing energy assistance can use the online Agency Assistance Finder at to find a list of agencies in their ZIP code. Customers in need can also call 800-552-7583, or the United Way at 211 or 800-427-4626.
