Carnahan reports raising more than $200,000

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Missouri Democratic Congressman Russ Carnahan's campaign has raised more than $200,000 during the past three months.

Carnahan provided a summary Thursday of the campaign finance report ahead of the Friday deadline for reporting the information to federal election authorities.

According to the campaign finance report, Carnahan reported his campaign had nearly $375,000 in available cash at the end of June.

The St. Louis-area district Carnahan currently represents was left out when the Missouri Legislature redrew the state's congressional boundaries with eight districts instead of the current nine. Carnahan has not publicly indicated his plans for the 2012 election. His options include challenging fellow Democrat William Lacy Clay or running in the district that Republican Todd Akin is vacating to run for the U.S. Senate.
