Your Opinion: City should ban sagging pants

Dear Editor:

This letter is in response to the newly passed ordinance in the city of Collinsville, in the St. Louis area. The new ordinance makes pants that sag below the waistline unlawful and carries a $100 fine and community service for first time offenders.

My point is why doesn't the Jefferson City mayor and City Council consider and pass the same law in our great capital city?

I for one get really disgusted when I visit and spend my money at the local businesses and mall and to see somebody's underwear halfway showing. After all, Jefferson City is the capital city of our state and should be setting an example for the rest of the state.

Need I say more?
