Maylee trial moved to Boone County

Joshua Maylee’s triple homicide trial has been shifted from Callaway County to Boone County.

During a pretrial conference Monday in Callaway County Circuit Court, Circuit Judge Kevin Crane approved a motion by public defender Donald Catlett for a change of venue to Boone County. But no final decision has been made yet on a proposal before the court to import a jury from Platte County.

Maylee, of Holts Summit, faces three first-degree murder charges and one attempted murder charge in connection with a shooting spree Oct. 26, 2010. He is accused of killing Allen and Jackie Pinet at their home in Holts Summit and, later in the evening, Jeff Werdehausen of Callaway County.
