Missouri patient dies as ambulance, dump truck collide

FAIR PLAY, Mo. (AP) - A patient headed to a southwest Missouri hospital in an ambulance has died after a dump truck collided with the rescue vehicle.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the victim as 67-year-old James Pettibone of Greenfield.

He was en route to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar on Friday afternoon when the dump truck crossed the center line on Missouri 32, about a mile east of the town of Fair Play.

The collision also injured three ambulance workers and the dump truck driver.
