Brandy Summers, 20, and her toddler daughter, Adlen, haven't been seen by family members since July 1.

A Cole County family is hoping the public can help them find their daughter, who has been missing since the first of the month.

Brandy Summers, 20, 813 Schumate Chapel Road, was last seen at her home on July 1. Also missing is Brandy's 16-month-old girl, Adlen.

"The last time I saw them, they were in bed around midnight or 1 a.m.," said Brandy's father, John. "The next morning, they were gone."

What's even more concerning is that Brandy has been diagnosed with ADD, is bipolar and, according to her father, doctors have

diagnosed Brandy with having the mental capacity of a 12- or 13-year-old.

"She did leave one other time, but she called us the next day," Summers said. "There's been nothing like this."

Summers said they could not find anything that had been taken, such as clothes, from where Brandy was staying.

Summers and his wife have legal guardianship of Brandy.

They have filed a missing persons report with the Cole County Sheriff's Department.

"I know they (deputies) went out to her ex-boyfriend's house, but they couldn't find anything," Summers said.

Anyone who might have information on Brandy and Adlen are urged to call the sheriff's department at 634-9160.
