“Although everyone recognizes that the anonymous letter to the YMCA Board of Directors was politically motivated, I do not want to innocently create any negative perception of our YMCA, an organization that I led for nearly 19 years and which means a great deal to me,” Hartsfield said in the press release.

Mt Hartsfield, you got caught with your hand in the proverbial cookie jar. Admit what you did was wrong -- don't make excuses or change the story. You've moved because you were wrong and got caught.

So what if it was politically motivated? If you are doing something unethical, it doesn't matter who or how its brought to light. Does it make you any less culpable, Mr. Hartsfield? This guy must feel he's something special and entitled to extras and gifts at public expense. This is the perfect example of the type of person and mindset you don't want representing you in a public office.

He says, “Although everyone recognizes that the anonymous letter to the YMCA Board of Directors was politically motivated, I do not want to innocently create any negative perception of our YMCA, an organization that I led for nearly 19 years and which means a great deal to me,”

Wow, this guy is something special now, isn't he? I am of the thinking that he should not only have to stand with his nose towards the corner, but lose his playground priviledges for a few days just like any other first grader who is caught breaking the rules.

Too bad his basic inner workings and personal judgements didn't lean this way before he got caught. It's alot easier to do the right thing once you get busted and publicly outed doing it the wrong way first. Manning up to it inside of dodging it, placing the blame on others and burying your head in the sand would be a more respectable way to deal with it though once you're caught with your pants down.

And I have heard that Craig Lammers has denied any knowledge of wrongdoing. How can you be the Executive Director and not know this type of thing was going on? His own Operations Director, Eric Jaegers, is supposedly George's Campaign Manager.

On another note, has George severed all business relationship with the YMCA, or did he merely change offices....I thought he was getting paid...
