Kristie Scheulen will defend agribusiness no matter what.
However growth hormones and antibiotics are still given to healthy animals. Chickens and turkeys grow so big so fast they can't walk. Laying hens are kept in cages so small if one sits down another one has to stand. Downed sheep, goats and hogs are still slaughtered. Any cattle that can walk are still sold to slaughter. Some sows are still kept in crates their entire lives. Some are tied down. Cattle and hogs are still castrated without analgesics.
People are buying grass-fed beef and free-range chickens and eggs for a reason. The animals are treated better. It's better for the environment and it's healthier. These farmers I strongly support.
