Dear Editor:
The News Tribune recently published a letter of mine concerning the City of Jefferson down-payment assistance program. Some of my statements may have been in error.
I was informed by city staff that there are safeguards, in the program, to prevent abuses. There have apparently been zero defaults during the life of the program.
It is incumbent upon me to better check my facts in the future.
