Lisa Dey has built the Jefferson City Lady Jays softball program into a force in Mid-Missouri.
Now she's reaping the rewards.
The National Federation of State High School Coaches Assocation has recognized Dey as Missouri's Coach of the Year for 2010.
Dey, who wrapped up her 16th year as the Lady Jays coach last year, has led Jefferson City to a state title, four quarterfinal appearances and eight district championships.
The Lady Jays won their first state title in 2009, going 25-1 and defeating Oakville 2-1 in the state title game.
Jefferson City finished second in 2004 and 2006.
