State Senate to debate federal health care

The House passed its version last week.

And this morning, Missouri senators are being asked to approve a resolution urging Attorney General Chris Koster to join one of the lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the federal health care law.

The Senate's Rules Committee voted 5-2, along party lines, Tuesday afternoon to send the resolution to the full chamber for debate.

The measure's sponsor, Sen. Jane Cunningham, R-Chesterfield, wants Koster to file a lawsuit of his own, or join either the suit Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder filed last year in federal court in Cape Girardeau or the lawsuit filed by the state of Florida.
