BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Allison Vernerey had 15 points and seven rebounds Sunday and No. 3 Duke cruised past Virginia Tech for the 14th consecutive time, 57-43.

The Blue Devils (17-0, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), coming off three consecutive victories against ranked teams, used an early 16-2 run to open a 20-6 lead. Jasmine Thomas started it with a foul line jumper and added a 3-pointer, and Tricia Liston also scored five.

Duke led 34-21 at halftime, but missed its first eight shots after halftime while Virginia Tech (9-9, 0-4) scored six straight points to get within seven. Thomas ended the dry spell with a 15-footer, sparking a 9-0 run, and the Hokies never got closer than 10 again.

Shanel Harrison led the Hokies with 10 points.

The Blue Devils remained one of two unbeaten teams left in Division I, along with Florida Gulf Coast.

No. 4 Stanford 94, Washington State 50

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Nnemkadi Ogwumike scored 20 points as Stanford beat Washington State, improving to 51-0 all-time against the Cougars.

Younger sister Chiney Ogwumike added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Stanford (14-2, 5-0 Pac-10), which has won eight straight games, including its historic win over No. 1 Connecticut that ended the Huskies' 90-game winning streak.

Jeanette Pohlen had 14 points for Stanford, while Joslyn Tinkle came off the bench to score 12 and Sarah Boothe 10.

Hana Potter had nine points to lead Washington State (4-14, 2-4 Pac-10), which saw its rare two-game league winning streak snapped. The Cougars shot just 24 percent.

No. 8 Xavier 81, Massachusetts 55

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Amber Harris and Ta'Shia Phillips each had double-doubles and Xavier used its inside dominance to cruise to an easy win over Massachusetts.

Harris had 19 points and 18 rebounds while Phillips scored 15 points and grabbed 15 boards for the Musketeers (14-2, 3-0 Atlantic 10) who won their fourth straight game.

Xavier outrebounded the Minutewomen 63-33.

Cerie Mosgrove led UMass (5-13, 1-2 Atlantic 10) with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Jasmine Watson added 15 points.

No. 24 Ohio State 67, No. 9 Michigan State 53

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Jantel Lavender had 24 points and Ohio State broke out of a slump to beat Michigan State, ending the ninth-ranked Spartans' 14-game winning streak.

The teams had been going in opposite directions. The Spartans (16-2, 4-1 Big Ten) had not lost since their third game of the season on Nov. 19 at No. 2 Baylor. The Buckeyes (11-6, 2-3), the six-time defending conference champs, had dropped six of nine since a 7-0 start.

After weeks of shooting poorly, Ohio State hit 43 percent from the field while the Spartans had their worst shooting game of the year, hitting just 29 percent - including making only 2 of 23 behind the arc.

Tayler Hill added 17 points and Brittany Johnson 10 for the Buckeyes. Cetera Washington had 12 for the Spartans.

No. 13 Maryland 80, Clemson 59

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Alyssa Thomas scored 21 points and No. 13 Maryland avoided an 0-3 start in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a victory over Clemson.

Thomas had 15 of her points in the opening half as the Terrapins (14-3, 1-2 ACC) took their 10th straight game over Clemson (8-11, 1-3).

Thomas scored five points during a 15-5 run to close the first period to wipe out the Lady Tigers 29-23 lead. Maryland continued the charge after the break, Lynetta Kizer scoring seven points in a 17-8 run that put the Terps up 55-42.

Kirstyn Wright had 14 points to lead the Lady Tigers, who have lost 48 straight game to ranked opponents.

No. 14 DePaul 64, Villanova 45

VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - Keisha Hampton scored 20 points to lead No. 14 DePaul to a 64-45 win over Villanova on Sunday.

DePaul (17-2, 5-0 Big East), which has won 14 of its last 15 games, is off to its best start in the conference since joining the league in 2005.

Katherine Harry had 14 points and Felicia Chester added 13 for the Blue Demons, one of three teams undefeated in league play along with No. 2 UConn and Rutgers.

Lindsay Kimmel had 12 points to pace Villanova (8-9, 0-4), which has lost three of its last four.

The Blue Demons hit 9 of their first 12 shots while Villanova started 2-for-12 as DePaul took a 21-5 lead with 10:16 left in the first half. The Wildcats never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way.

No. 15 Oklahoma 71, Texas 67, OT

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Oklahoma blew an 11-point second half lead before sending rival Texas to its worst start in the Big 12.

Danielle Robinson overcome a tough shooting night to score 30 points, including five in the overtime, for the No. 15 Sooners (13-3, 3-0 Big 12). Kathleen Nash scored 20 for the Longhorns (11-6, 0-3), who have two overtime defeats and a loss to No. 1 Baylor in a three-game skid.

Aaryn Ellenberg scored 16 for Oklahoma. Her 3-pointer to start overtime sparked a 7-0 Oklahoma run. Texas twice got within three points but Ashleigh Fontenette missed two 3-pointers in the final 11 seconds and Robinson made one free throw with 1.5 seconds to play to close it out.

No. 16 Iowa 71, Indiana 51

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Jaime Printy scored 18 points and Iowa beat Indiana.

Kachine Alexander had 14 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and four assists for the Hawkeyes, who had a strong afternoon defensively, holding the Hoosiers to just 26 percent (14-for-55) shooting from the field.

The Hawkeyes (15-4, 3-3) opened up a quick 16-6 lead with four 3-pointers, including two from Printy, and Indiana (8-10, 2-4) never got closer than nine points the rest of the game.

Alisha Goodwin led Indiana with 14 points, including 11 in the final three minutes. Aulani Sinclair added 12 points off the bench. Jori Davis had 10 points.

The two teams combined to shoot 61 free throws, and Iowa hit 24-of-32. Iowa outrebounded Indiana 51 to 34.

No. 19 Kentucky 72, Mississippi State 60

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Victoria Dunlap scored 22 points and Kentucky held off a late rally to beat Mississippi State.

The Wildcats (13-4, 2-2) started slowly but scored 22 straight points in the first half during a nine-minute stretch. They forced eight turnovers and didn't give the Lady Bulldogs any second shots over that span.

Dunlap, who also had 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season, moved into fifth place on Kentucky's all-time scoring list. She now has 1,567 career points for the Wildcats.

Kentucky led 42-21 at halftime and led by as many as 24 in the second half, but the Lady Bulldogs (8-8, 0-4) made a push late. Diamber Johnson scored 17 of her 20 points in the second but her team never got closer than 11.

Dunlap was one of four Wildcats to score in double figures Sunday.

No. 20 Arkansas 57, Alabama 53

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - C'eira Ricketts scored 18 points and Sarah Watkins added 16 as Arkansas survived 28 turnovers to beat Alabama.

Arkansas (15-2, 3-2 Southeastern Conference) never trailed, though Alabama tied the score on five occasions. Watkins gave the Razorbacks the lead for good on two free throws with 5:32 left and Keira Peak, who had 11 for Arkansas, hit a 3-pointer with 3:01 to go for a 54-49 lead.

Jasmine Robinson scored 12 points to lead the Crimson Tide (11-7, 0-5), who have dropped five straight.

No. 22 Miami 65, Boston College 53

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Riquna Williams scored a season-high 33 points to help Miami win its 17th straight game with a victory over Boston College.

Miami (18-1, 4-0 ACC), with its smaller and quicker players, used pressure defense to rally from a seven-point deficit against Atlantic Coast Conference rival Boston College (14-4, 1-2).

The Hurricanes came up with 19 steals and had a 31-11 turnover advantage to overcome being outrebounded 48-27.

Speedy guards Williams and Shenise Johnson, the top two scorers in the ACC, led the way for Miami. Williams had 21 of her points in the second half and made 6 3-pointers. Johnson had 13 of her 22 points in the second half.

Miami's defense held BC way under its 84.9 scoring average coming into the game.

Caroyln Swords had 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Eagles while Stefanie Murphy added 10 points and 15 boards.
