YOUR OPINION: Banning guns won’t solve problem

Dear Editor:

It sure didn’t take long for anti-gun folks to jump on the shooting in Tucson.

That situation could have been prevented just like the one at Fort Hood, had people taken action sooner. People saw the problem and warning signs but turned their backs on it until it was to late.

In this politically correct world no one wishes to handle a situation before it turns tragic for fear of being sued or lashed out at by others. The individual that did the shooting clearly had issues that were never addressed.

It doesn’t take a gun to kill someone, he could have easily ran his car into the crowd or killed people a hundred other ways. Should we ban everything and pad the world around us? My heart goes out to the families, but banning guns won’t solve the problem, it will only make it worse.
