SE Missouri man accused of using gun to order burgers

BENTON, Mo. (AP) - A southeast Missouri man is accused of pulling out a shotgun and demanding food from a McDonald's after the restaurant had closed.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter says the 27-year-old man pulled up to the drive-through window late Saturday night and was told it was too late to get food. Walter says the man pulled out a shotgun and told a worker that his 6-month-pregnant wife was going to kill him if he came home empty-handed.

A deputy who responded held the man at gunpoint until Walter and two more deputies arrived.

Walter says the man remained in custody Monday on $5,000 bond. He has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon and driving while intoxicated.

Walter said the man did not have an attorney.
