NC man sentenced in Mo. on fed fraud charges

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A North Carolina man has been sentenced to more than a year in prison after pleading guilty to federal fraud charges in Missouri.

U.S. Attorney Beth Phillips said 55-year-old Jeffrey Blake, of Cornelius, N.C., had pleaded guilty in September to conspiracy to defraud the government.

Blake admitted that from May 2005 to September 2006, he and an employee obtained more than $225,000 in payments for fraudulent claims to the General Services Administration.

Blake was sentenced Friday to 14 months in federal prison without parole. The court also ordered Blake to pay $225,213 in restitution.
