Snow halts area hoops tourneys

Monday’s snow delayed the starts of several area high school basketball tournaments.

The four first-round girls games in the California Tournament were called off and rescheduled for Tuesday night. The time schedule remains the same, but the games will be played at the California Middle School.

The four first-round boys games in the California Tournament will be played as scheduled tonight at the high school.

• The schedule for the first round at the Union Girls Tournament has been pushed back a day. The Helias Lady Crusaders will now play St. Charles West at 7:30 Tuesday night.

• The schedule for the boys and girls tournaments at Fatima have been adjusted. The eight-team Blue and Gold girls tournament will now feature a pair of first-round games Tuesday night and Wednesday. The schedule is unchanged the rest of the week.

The boys four-team round-robin will play two games Tuesday night, Wednesday and Friday.

• All tournament games were called off at the South Callaway Tournament. As of late Monday night, games were scheduled to be played Tuesday night. But the new schedule was not immediately available.
