Ex-pastor pleads not guilty to murder

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (AP) - A former western Missouri pastor has pleaded not guilty to the shooting death of a former parishioner last March.

David Love is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 42-year-old Randy Stone in Stone's insurance office. He pleaded not guilty to both charges Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court in Independence.

The 50-year-old former pastor left his post at new Hope Baptist Church in Independence in late April. Stone had left the church about two weeks before he was found slain.

Stone's family members have said Stone's wife had been having an affair with Love for several years.

Love was arrested in November in South Carolina, where he was working as a truck driver.
