DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Kyle Singler had 25 points and a season-high 10 rebounds, and No. 1 Duke beat Maryland 71-64 on Sunday night to extend its winning streak to 25.
Nolan Smith added 18 points on 5-of-18 shooting for the Blue Devils (15-0, 2-0 ACC). They overcame 17 turnovers and shot 40 percent to extend their best start since 2005-06.
Jordan Williams had 23 points and 13 rebounds for his ninth straight double-double, and Cliff Tucker added 14 points for the Terrapins (10-5, 0-2). They were the last team to defeat Duke, but they were denied their 11th win against a No. 1 team in school history.
Maryland closed to 67-62 on Williams' layup with 1:25 left, but Singler responded with a 3-pointer with 53 seconds left and the Terps couldn't get closer than six after that.
No. 2 Ohio St. 67, Minnesota 64
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - David Lighty scored 19 points and unbeaten Ohio State survived a scare when Austin Hollins' 3-pointer came up short in the final seconds.
The Buckeyes (16-0, 3-0 Big Ten) led by 18 points before the Golden Gophers (12-4, 1-3) rallied to pull within 67-64 on Al Nolen's two free throws with 44.6 seconds left.
Coach Tubby Smith elected to foul Ohio State's Dallas Lauderdale, a 33 percent free throw shooter, and he missed both with 28.5 seconds left.
The Gophers missed two shots inside before taking the ball out underneath the basket with 15 seconds remaining. With time running out, Nolen fed Hollins who got off a shot with 1 second left that was deflected by Ohio State's William Buford.
Freshman Jared Sullinger had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Buckeyes.
Trevor Mbakwe had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Golden Gophers.
No. 3 Kansas 67, Michigan 60, OT
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Marcus Morris scored 22 points, and Kansas remained undefeated.
The Wolverines (11-5) rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit and scored the last six points of regulation to tie the game at 51. Zack Novak made a 3-pointer at the start of overtime to give Michigan its first lead of the game, but the Jayhawks (15-0) scored the next eight points, all by Morris and his twin brother Markieff.
Michigan had the ball down four points with about a minute remaining, but Stu Douglass missed a shot from the right wing.
The Morris brothers both had double-doubles. Markieff had 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Marcus had 10 rebounds to go along with his crucial scoring.
Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 19 points for the Wolverines but was only 5 of 19 from the field. Darius Morris scored 16 points, and Novak added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
No. 7 Villanova 72, No. 24 Cincinnati 61
VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - Corey Fisher scored 21 points and Maalik Wayns had 13 of his 15 in the second half as Villanova handed Cincinnati its first loss of the season.
Fisher had 20 points in a dynamic first half for the Wildcats (14-1, 3-0 Big East).
Villanova upped its winning streak at The Pavilion, its 6,500-seat on-campus arena, to 45 straight. The streak began on Jan. 17, 2007, and now includes 19 wins over Big East teams.
Winners of nine straight, the Wildcats haven't lost since losing 78-68 to Tennessee Nov. 26 in the finals of the NIT Season Tip-Off at Madison Square Garden.
Cincinnati (15-1, 2-1) started the season 15-0 for the first time since 1998-99. The Bearcats started 19-0 in 1962-63.
Rashad Bishop led Cincinnati with 14 points.
No. 11 Purdue 75, Iowa 52
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Ryne Smith scored 18 points Sunday to help Purdue to its 10th straight win.
Smith made a career-high six 3-pointers, surpassing his record of five set twice in the previous three games.
JaJuan Johnson had 16 points and four blocks and E'Twaun Moore and Kelsey Barlow each added 11 points for the Boilermakers (15-1, 4-0 Big Ten). Purdue shot 49 percent from the field and outrebounded the Hawkeyes 36-29.
The Boilermakers, who scored the first 11 points of the game, held Iowa to 37 percent shooting and forced the Hawkeyes into 16 turnovers.
Matt Gatens had 13 points for the Hawkeyes (7-8, 0-3).
