PITTSBURGH (AP) - Chris Kunitz scored three goals, Evgeni Malkin got Pittsburgh going with a goal 7 seconds into the game and the Penguins, playing for the first time since the Winter Classic, beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 8-1 on Wednesday night.

Alex Goligoski added a goal and set up three others and Kris Letang had three assists to help the Penguins end a two-game losing streak.

The Penguins' record for fastest goal to start a game is 6 seconds by Jean Pronovost in 1976.

Pittsburgh scored four times on its first eight shots while opening a 5-0 lead in the first against the Lightning. Tampa Bay was 9-1-1 in its previous 11 after beating Washington 1-0 in overtime Tuesday night.

Chris Conner, Tyler Kennedy and Mark Letestu also scored for Pittsburgh. Marc-Andre Fleury made 31 saves, allowing only Adam Hall's goal early in the third.

Despite all the goals, NHL scoring leader Sidney Crosby had only an assist.

Lightning star Steven was awarded a penalty shot early in the second period, but slipped in the left circle as he skated toward the net and didn't get a shot off.

Canucks 3, Flames 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Roberto Luongo made 43 saves and Vancouver beat Calgary to extend its winning streak to seven games and break a tie for the top spot in the overall NHL standings.

Luongo, lost his shutout bid when Tim Jackman scored with 10.8 seconds left.

Ryan Kesler, Kevin Bieksa and Daniel Sedin, with the 10,000th goal in the franchise's 40-year history, scored for the streaking Canucks.

Fresh off a road sweep through Dallas, Colorado and San Jose, Vancouver hasn't lost in regulation in a month (12-0-2) and is 16-1-2 its last 19 to top the NHL with 57 points.

Rangers 2, Hurricanes 1, OT

NEW YORK (AP) - Mats Zuccarello scored his first NHL goal 3:09 into overtime and Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves to lift New York past Carolina.

Zuccarello, the 5-foot-7 forward from Norway, scored in his sixth NHL game. He got to a rebound after Brandon Dubinsky charged in on goalie Cam Ward and scored from a near-impossible angle on the goal line with a drive underneath the crossbar. Zuccarello and Dubinsky also assisted on Matt Gilroy's goal that snapped a scoreless tie 8:41 into the third period.

Eric Staal ruined Lundqvist's shutout bid with 6:14 left in regulation to force overtime.

Stars 4, Blackhawks 2

CHICAGO (AP) - Mike Ribeiro broke a tie midway through the second period with his second power-play goal, and Brenden Morrow also scored with the man advantage for Dallas.

Dallas was 3 for 3 on the power play, and Steve Ott added a short-handed, empty-net goal.

Fernando Pisani and Tomas Kopecky scored for Chicago, 1-4-0 in its last five games. The Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks dropped to 12-11-0 at the United Center, where they were 29-8-4 last season.

Predators 4, Ducks 1

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Patric Hornqvist scored in his third straight game, Pekka Rinne made 40 saves and Nashville beat Anaheim for its third straight victory.

Hornqvist and Sergei Kostitsyn each had a goal and an assist and the Predators weathered Anaheim's 41-24 shot advantage with several big saves by Rinne before Kostitsyn and Shea Weber scored empty-net goals in the final minute. Jerred Smithson also scored for Nashville. Saku Koivu scored for Anaheim.

Thrashers 3, Panthers 2

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Rich Peverley scored twice and Ondrej Pavelec made 33 saves for Atlanta.

Niclas Bergfors also scored to help Atlanta win for only the third time in its last eight games (3-4-1). Andrew Ladd had two assists. Chris Higgins had a goal and an assist and Stephen Weiss added a goal for Florida. The Panthers lost in regulation for only the second time in nine games (5-2-2).
